Expert Reviews

From the Editorial Team

The Surge Mastercard® Credit Card is one of the only unsecured credit cards available to consumers with poor credit. That means you don’t have to put down a security deposit to get approved, and you don’t have to pre-load your own funds onto the card. However, since this card is available to consumers with poor credit, there are a number of costly fees that you should be aware of. Be sure to read the Terms and Conditions before applying for the card so you don't get caught by surprise.

The ongoing APR on this card is higher than usual, so it would be wise to pay your balance off in full each month to avoid interest charges. Overall, this card could be a useful tool to build credit if you can’t get approved for many other credit card, but you need to consider the cost of the numerous fees and make sure it’s the right decision.

I like it's unsecured. I will pay balance in full each month so will not have high fees.

When you are in a situation where your credit is bad because of medical bills and you want to start rebuilding your credit you just have to use the card responsibly and stay within a low balance and just pay it off every month so you won't run into trouble and end up paying more then you have too. I intend to use it for paying for gas this way it's low because I have a small car and I just leave it at home all the other times
