The Bottom Line

You can earn 1.25 miles per dollar, which is a decent rewards rate on all purchases. Meanwhile, you get to apply the rewards across a range of products and airlines without blackout dates or expiration dates. This is a superior card for those who like to travel and also like to put purchases on their plastic.

The Good

There is no annual fee, which distinguishes this rewards card from many of its most expensive and less flexible competitors. 20,000 bonus miles can be earned in the first 3 months of card membership after making $1,000 in purchases.

The Not so Good

Unless you have excellent/good credit, you probably will not qualify for this particular card.

Capital One does not allow you to download more than 3 months history in Excel format. While you can easily do this in Chase. Allowing you to sort all charges and see how much you spent on one Rest. or one Airline etc.

Called about lowering my APR which is 13%. Ihave been a long time customer who has used their card for lots of charges and I know that I have a very good credit rating. They offered me a 9% for six months,so I took it, but will request better than that or will acquire another one else where. Did not answer their recomendations

Capital One is the best card for international travel since it doesn't charge foreign transaction fees.I had a Capital One miles card for several years and recenty received an offer to upgrade to either the Venture or VentureOne cards. I opted for the VentureOne as it doesn't have an annual fee. I split my purchases between multiple cards so my yearly consuption doesn't make up the difference in points that it would take to cover the annual fee. Only very heavy users of the card will be better off with the Venture card with annual fee. I think Capital One treats their customers better than other issuers.
