Hello my credit score is 760 I am looking for a card that would give me miles to travel. I would pay off at end of month. What do you suggest I go with and apply? thanks

With a score in the mid to upper 600s, your credit is considered "good" and you have a great chance of getting approved for any credit card you choose. Check out our travel credit cards page to see all of the best options for earning travel rewards! A few of the most popular options for flexible travel miles are the Capital One® Venture® Rewards Credit Card and the Discover it® Miles.

By: James Thomas | Oct 30, 2017

I would suggest the Southwest Credit card. Once you meet the initial qualifications you will get 50k frequent flyer miles but their miles can equate to 4-5 roundtrip flights depending upon the dates you fly whereas all of the others will more than likely only get you one roundtrip trip. The credit card is underwriten by Chase Bank

Hi, I am an International Student about to get my first Credit Card in the States to build credit. Don't think I have any credit or enough credit to get anything standard. Please advice :)

If you're just beginning to build credit for the first time, you will likely need to start with a secured credit card. Secured cards work just like normal credit cards, but you have to put down a refundable security deposit to get approved. By putting a few charges on your secured cards and always paying your balance off in full and on time each month you should be able to build your credit back up over time. The Capital One® Secured Mastercard® and the Discover it® Secured Card - No Annual Fee are both great options.

Your credit is considered "excellent" and you have a great chance of getting approved for any credit card you choose! For no annual fee and generous cash back rewards, the Citi® Double Cash Card – 18 month BT offer and the Discover it® Cashback Match™ are two of the most popular options!

By: Harry Davids | Oct 13, 2017

It depends on your shopping habits. If you buy a lot at supermarkets and at one or more of the department stores listed by Amex for their Blue Card Preferred, they give you 6% cash back on your first $6,000 supermarket purchases and 3% on the first $6,000 of the combination of gas purchases from regular filling stations like Mobil or Shell and the selected dept. stores, as well as 1% on everything else. The downside is the current $95 annual charge (no waiver), but if you spend enough at the right places your rewards will no only vastly exceed the annual charge but will also exceed the total cash rewards available from other cards that have n annual fee. If you make overseas trips regularly you may want to look at some of the other cards, because Amex charges for currency exchange, while some of the other carriers have no charge.

My credit score is 781. Does that score make me eligible for any of these cards?

With a score in the high 700s, your credit is considered "excellent" and you have a great chance of getting approved for just about any credit card!

By: Harry Davids | Oct 13, 2017

Your credit score is close to the edge of the best card range, so you will need to shop around and ask that question. Each card issuer has its own criteria.

By: Herman Kirkpatrick | Aug 23, 2017

You need to pay your card in full every month. That's the only way to save on interest. You should NEVER carry a credit card balance. Any financial consultant will tell you that.

About Cash Back Credit Cards – Find the Best Cashback Credit Cards

Cash back credit cards, as their name implies, reward you with cash back for using the card. That makes them one of the most popular kinds of rewards cards because it’s like getting an extra discount on every purchase.

When looking for a cash back credit card you will want to keep in mind, however, that the biggest factors impacting any credit card are those that affect your interest rate and any standard fees and charges. If you get a card with too high of an interest rate or too expensive of an annual fee, it might undermine the whole point of trying to receive extra cash. The cash you get back with your cash back credit card should be viewed as an added perk. In other words, the best cashback credit card for you should allow you to enjoy that perk based on its fundamental ability to provide cash rewards in a relatively short amount of time.

Check our expert ratings, compare cards, and locate the top cash back credit cards which deliver the best all-around benefits – moderately low interest rate, universal cash back option and potentially one with no cap on the amount of cash back that can be earned. Most cash back credit cards will generally offer anywhere from 1% to 5% cash back – and will have guidelines regarding how much cash you can earn during a given timeframe. But if you pick your card wisely and then use it responsibly a cash back credit card is just like having an automatic savings plan or piggy bank tied to your purchase activity.
