Our Take
The Good
This card’s unlimited rewards program is best-in-class right now – you won’t find a higher rate of unlimited cash rewards on a no annual fee card today.
The Not So Good
This card doesn’t have the strongest welcome offer, and the intro APR period on purchases and qualifying balance transfers is pretty average.

Expert Reviews
From the CompareCards.com Editorial Team, updated on Jul 09, 2026
This card is a game-changer with one of the highest rates of unlimited cash rewards we’ve ever seen on a no-annual fee credit card: cardholders can earn unlimited 2% cash rewards on purchases., no ifs ands or buts. This is just about as good as it gets when it comes to rewards cards, so if you’re on the hunt for a card that is very low maintenance that still allows for a substantial accumulation of rewards this one is tough to beat. The Wells Fargo Active Cash® Card also comes with a solid if uninspiring welcome offer – new cardholders can earn a $200 cash rewards bonus after spending $500 in purchases in the first 3 months. This isn’t the best welcome offer on the market, but we feel that the ongoing rewards program is strong enough to offset it.
This card also comes with an appealing 0% intro APR period on purchases: 0% intro APR for 12 months from account opening on purchases and then 18.49%, 24.49%, or 28.49% Variable APR applies after that intro period is up. Cardholders also get 0% intro APR for 12 months from account opening on qualifying balance transfers and then 18.49%, 24.49%, or 28.49% Variable APR after the intro period.
