From the CompareCards.com Editorial Team: Sapphire Preferred cardholders earn one point per dollar spent, and can earn double points in special categories of purchases like dining and travel. There is also a great sign-up bonus of 40,000 points. To earn the bonus just use the card to spend at least $3,000 within the first three months of membership. You also earn 7% bonus points annually, even for points you may have already redeemed. Meanwhile there are no foreign transaction fees and you receive dedicated customer service, which means that when you have a question you’ll always get to speak with a real expert in person, not just a voicemail computer. Plus when you use the unique Ultimate Rewards program you can redeem travel rewards using 20 percent fewer points than normal. If the flight costs $1,000, for instance, that typically requires 100,000 points. But with this Chase Sapphire credit card you only need to redeem 80,000. Rewards can be used on virtually any airline and points never expire. While there is a $95 annual fee it is waived for the first year of membership. |
