Anyone know, are medical bills weighed the same as credit card bills or are they counted to a lesser degree?

By: Evelyn Mazzella | Aug 12, 2015

Medical bills are not weighed at all on credit report for credit scoring. Is that what you mean?

By: Rebecca DuPerry | Oct 9, 2015

They will tell you that, but I do not believe it for one second. I have been trying to re-finance, get a line of credit, get a credit card to help me with consolidating my medical bills and everything else. They weigh in my medical bills along with everything else. I have asked the question of are they supposed to do that and have been told, it is their choice. Is it against the law, have yet to get any Credit Bureau to confirm. The Federal Trade Commission confirms that they are supposed to weight the medical not at all and are working on educating the vendors. You can call back, get a different person with a different answer. Good Luck!

I lost my job and I have been trying to find a credit card/company that will consolidate my credit cards. I got the Chase Slate, but it only gives me $1000. That helps, but I need more to really help me.

I have a question i have a small buisness that i am just getting off the ground when i was younger i messed me credit up i have like a 569, And i am looking for a small limit that will look over my past even though i know the interest will be through the roof, But i am willing to deal with it to get something small and pay it off real fast to build my credit back up any suggestions? would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Sara,

With a credit score of 569, your options will be very limited in terms of which credit cards you can get approved for. One card to consider is the Credit One Bank Credit Card. This card is designed for people who have poor credit and are looking to rebuild. As you mentioned, paying your balance on time and in full is the best strategy to build your credit as quickly as possible, so be sure to stay on top of your payments!

I am looking for a great business credit card with no personal surety only based on my 27 year business experience and DUN credit score.

By: CompareCards | Jun 8, 2015

Hi Ernest.

Business credit card approvals are actually based on a combination of both your personal and your business credit. If your business has a lengthy, positive credit history it will be a big help in getting approved for a business credit card, but you’re personal credit history will probably be taken into account as well.

That said, the credit card I would recommend would be the Chase Ink Cash Business. This card has no annual fee, 0% APR for 12 months, and an excellent cash back program! Be sure to check out our business credit cards page so see all the best options!

I am looking at possible bankruptcy due to large medical expenses. Is there a card that I can get that will understand my medical problems.

By: CompareCards | Jun 8, 2015

Hi Marysue

The credit card that currently has the longest introductory period for 0% APR is the Citi Simplicity. This card would give you 21 months to pay off your medical expenses totally interest free. On top of that, there is no annual fee and no late fees or penalty rate if you happen to miss a payment! If you plan to put the large expenses on a credit card, I would establish a solid plan to pay down the debt as quickly as you can. Because once the introductory period is up, you'll begin accruing interest on the balance, which could bring you further into debt if you can’t handle the payments.

Does anyone know of a credit card with 0% interest and no transfer fee?

By: CompareCards | Jun 2, 2015

Hi Linda,

The Chase Slate is the best option if your looking for a fee-free balance transfer credit card. It's currently the only card on the market that offers no balance transfer fee, no annual fee, AND it has 0% APR on purchases and balance transfer for the first 15 months!

noticed my fico score went up after I ordered a another card..? If I transfer a card how will that effect my score..and will it increase my credit line?

I would transfer One Card for the time being. Remember rushing in may be a big problem for them. I tried it. I got one transferred, if your score is not so bad 650 or up, Discover is pretty good. Merrick Bank is also another one but I don't know if they are offering Transfers you could try, CS# 1-800-253-2322; Good Luck all the Best!

FIRST PREMIER BANK -START WITH $300.00 CREDIT LIMIT AFTER 6 MONTHS YOU HAVE THE OPTION TO INCREASE YOUR CREDIT LIMIT BASED ON YOUR KEEPING YOUR MONTHLY PAYMENTS CONSISTANT, IT WILL ALSO AID IN REBUILDING AND OR ESTABLISHING YOUR CREDIT WORTHINESS. REALLY A GREAT CHOICE. FINGERHUT IS ANOTHER GOOD CHOICE HOWEVER I NOTICED A SIGNIFICANT PRICE HIKE FOR THEIR MERCHANDISE SO THINK TWICE CONSIDERING THE AFOREMENTIONED.

American consumer Credit Counseling. They helped us out of $120,000 credit debt. It was a painful 6 years but the freedom from debt is worth it!

By: Linda Brodie Wilson | May 23, 2015

Try Lexington law firm. They will set you up in a monthly plan. Sometimes they even have a bring a friend plan where you pay the same price for 2 people as you do for one. I am trying to rebuild my credit after divorce, and my oldest daughter was having some credit issues so I put her on there too. For $100 dollars a month they worked on my credit report and hers. They sent letters from their law firm to creditors saying you are disputing the debt. They send like 3 a month and the creditors respond faster to them because they are a law firm. They got most of mine removed without me paying anything. Then if you do have to pay them you usually get a good discount. It helps build your credit score back up too. It takes awhile to get your credit score back up but it is a start. You get to log on there website and see everything, and you can pick the creditors you want to sent letters to first so if you have someone specifically harassing you then you can pick theirs. If you don't know who to pick you can ask them which one's are affecting your credit score the most and start there. I would also check and try to buy a house or duplex if you do not already own one. There are a lot of first time home buyers with zero down and you can find houses that owners are willing to pay your closing costs. You can even buy a house with a low credit score of around 550 to 600.

Compare 0% Balance Transfer Credit Cards & Offers

One of the main reasons that people shop for a new credit card is in order to find banks that offer special 0% balance transfer credit cards for the longest period of time and with low transfer fees. In recent years consumers have started to use credit cards more wisely than they did before the big credit crisis. Now they tend to shift high-interest card balances to cards that offer a lower APR, because in doing so they are able to gain immediate and substantial savings.

Use our free balance transfer calculator and credit card payoff calculator found on this site to figure out how much money you can save by getting a better interest rate. Then look in this section for the best balance transfer credit cards that offer good deals such as 0% interest for 1 to 2 years, no-fee balance transfers, and lower regular APR rates. You will want to pay special attention to any minimum charges or transfer % that a credit card company might impose on you for transferring a balance – deduct that cost from your overall savings in order to arrive at a real net savings for transferring to a new credit card.

Let’s say that you have a card that you’re currently paying 25% interest on, but you find a card here that will only charge you 3.99% for the first year and 18% thereafter. By moving your balance to the new card you can save more than 20% right away, and 7% over the long term. If your transfer amount is $3,000 that means you save around $500– $600 in interest within the next 12 months.

Reviews
" " CompareCards says issuers are providing such generous deals, they're virtually irresistible for those willing to switch.

" " Those who always pay their balances in full and on time will usually come out ahead.

" " The offers on the credit card landscape are constantly changing which is great news for consumers.

" " In the future, the companies that will thrive are those able to give customers exactly what they want, the way they want it, when they want it.
