With the Starwood Preferred Guest® Credit Card from American Express, you get the privilege of being an American Express cardmember and it will reward you with plenty of Starpoints®. Cardholders can earn 25,000 bonus Starpoints® after you use your new Card to make $3,000 in purchases within the first 3 months. Cardmembers earn 2 Starpoints® for each dollar of eligible purchases spent on the Card at participating SPG® & Marriott Rewards® hotels, and one Starpoint for each dollar spent on all other purchases.

Starpoints® can be redeemed at more than 1,300 participating hotels and resorts in over 100 countries and for flights on more than 150 airlines with SPG flights, all with no blackout dates. As long as there is a standard room available at the participating hotel, you can book the a room by redeeming Starpoints. Hotel redemptions start at just 3,000 Starpoints for a category 1 hotel, and cardholders can transfer their Starpoints to nearly 30 popular airline frequent flyer programs.

There is a $0 introductory annual fee for the first year, then $95. However, there are no foreign transaction fees. The current APR for purchases and balance transfers is 16.24%-20.24% Variable, depending on your creditworthiness.

You can get 25,000 bonus points after spending $3,000 within your first 3 months and the points are good for credit towards hotel stays without blackout dates or air travel.

The Good

The ability to transfer your Starpoints to so many valuable airline partners makes The Starwood Preferred Guest Credit Card from American Express very appealing, even if you don't exclusively stay at Starwood hotels. With a low annual fee and great redemption options, every travel enthusiast should consider carrying this card.

The Not so Good

There's an annual fee after the first year, and no intro APR for new customers.
