With this card you get the privilege of being an American Express cardmember and it will reward you with plenty of Starpoints. Cardholders can get 25,000 bonus Starpoints by making $3,000 in purchases within the first 3 months of Card Membership. And for additional point accrual, cardmembers can earn up to 5 Starpoints on purchases at participating SPG hotels and resorts, and one Starpoint for each dollar spent on all other eligible purchases.
Starpoints can be redeemed at more than 1,200 hotels in nearly 100 countries without any restrictive blackout dates. As long as there is a standard room available at the participating hotel, you can book the a room by redeeming Starpoints. Hotel redemptions start at just 3,000 Starpoints for a category 1 hotel, and cardholders can transfer their Starpoints to nearly 30 popular airline frequent flyer programs.
The current APR for purchases and balance transfers is 15.49%-19.49% variable, depending on your creditworthiness. There is also a $95 annual fee, but American Express waives it for new cardholders the first year.
