The Citi MTV U card is a student card for those who enjoy everything related to MTV. The card is stylish looking, it’s designed with the young cardholder in mind, and it provides some substantial extras for those who are fans of music video and MTV. Using it teaches responsible financial management, and Citi backs up those lessons with some tangible incentives.

Using it earns you MTV reward points that can be redeemed for perks including gift cards, merchandise, travel, VIP passes to mtvU's Spring Break, and tickets to the MTV Video Music Awards. But this student Visa card is also an attractive choice for other reasons, because it starts off with a 0% APR on purchases for seven months plus no annual fee.

Not only does it let you earn rewards points at a rate of one point per dollar for everything you buy, but it also rewards you 25 bonus points each time you succeed in paying your credit card bill on time and staying within your credit limit. Earn an extra2,000 points twice a year – which is basically once per semester – if you are able to maintain a good scholastic grade point average.

The Bottom-Line
This is a great Visa card for those students who love MTV and also want to be rewarded for good grades, responsible credit card usage, and for simply using their card. Points accumulate fast and can be easily redeemed for a wide range of MTV-related rewards.

The Good
There is a 0% intro rate for seven months, no annual fee, and lots of attractive and straightforward ways to earn MTV rewards and bonus points.

The Not So Good
Since this is mainly an MTV rewards card, those who aren’t big fans of MTV may not find it so appealing.
