The BankAmericard Cash Rewards™ credit card is currently offering a $100 online cash back bonus after you make at least $500 in purchases within the first 90 days of opening your account - that’s an appealing offer.

There is also no annual fee associated with this card and you are able to earn 1 percent cash back for every purchase. There are easy ways to access earned cash - you can set up your account to receive your cash back by direct deposit to a checking or savings account, have it credited to your statement or sent to you by check.

You also have the convenience of earning 3% back on gas purchases and 2% at grocery stores for the first $1,500 in combined purchases in those categories (at participating merchants).

The Bottom Line

The BankAmericard Cash Rewards™ credit card is a good rewards card that offers a chance to earn 1% on every purchase with no annual fee. There are other features like overdraft protection, too, and the interest rate is reasonable. Bank of America customers also get to enjoy an ongoing 10% cash rewards bonus when redeeming rewards directly into a Bank of America® checking or savings account.

The Good

If earning cash back is your goal, the BankAmericard Cash Rewards™ credit card is a good option for you. You can earn cash back on everything you buy and receive it in fast, easy, convenient ways and rewards do not expire.

The Not so Good

It’s a solid rewards card, but if you like to travel overseas, be aware that transactions made in a foreign currency and transactions made in U.S. dollars that are processed outside the United States are subject to a heavy surcharge of 3% of the U.S. dollar amount of each transaction, in addition to any other applicable fee.

I have a bank americard cash rewards visa cc. Poor purchase protection and service. Bought a tv from an online retailer and was charged the wrong amount. Made many attempts to contact the retailer but didn't receive answers to my messages. After 9 days I sent an email to cancel the order. All of a sudden I get a confirmation number for shipping and half a dozen calls from the online retailer. By this point I was done and just wanted to cancel it but they said I would still be responsible for over $300 for shipping and insurance. I called BoA to dispute this charge and the guy i talked to [Jeremy] seemed to be doing a lot of things and having me hold and then comes back and says everything was all fine and done and he has put in the dispute for the difference in what they charged me. I said whoa. I don't want to deal with this company so I want to dispute the whole thing. I haven't received the tv, correspondence to my queries, nor a shipping confirmation [until after I canceled]. I explained that it wasn't the price we agreed on and I no longer trusted the retailer so I just want to cancel the order. BoA follows the policies of the online retailers and according to the retailer's policy the consumer would be responsible for shipping charges if the product was refused or returned. I obviously didn't have a product to return and the online retailer sent me the shipping confirmation the day after I sent an email to them to cancel the order. According to BoA it doesn't matter if I cancelled the order since I originally agreed to some of the charges. The BoA rep suggested the retailer doesn't have to cancel my order, and chose instead to ignore it. BoA said they didn't see a problem with that because I agreed to the original order, despite the original order being a much lower cost than what was charged to my card. I said I have all the documentation with the order confirmation and all the emails I sent. BoA said great, we can go ahead and dispute the difference in the charge, just return the tv if you no longer want it and they will just add the shipping charges per their policy for returned items. I asked him what protection does BoA provide to me against retailers that were fraudulently charging me the wrong amount. Jeremy paused and said, 'well it's in their policy that you will be charged for shipping so that's what we have to do". I replied, "so BoA thinks it is perfectly fine for a retailer to ignore a customer cancellation and still charge whatever they feel like. Jeremy's meek response was, 'that's not what I'm saying'. So what are you saying? 'That we have to go by the retailer's policies so when you return the tv they will be able to charge you for the shipping. I asked, 'do you see anything inherently wrong with this?'. He didn't. I hung up and am planning to reach out to corporate to determine why their policies support the retailers and not the consumers from whom they are making their money in interest paid on purchases. I would NEVER recommend BoA. Their business model serves the interests of the retailers, not the consumers. RUN from this card as fast as you can!

You're a number, thats it. They do nothing to listen or help their customers and they make it very clear that they are all about the dollar. At first this cards seems good, but everything after you actually get the card is a hassle. Redeeming rewards is a hassle, talking to an actual person instead of a machine is next to impossible.

I had the worst experience with moving from the rewards care to the cash rewards card. They had them intertwined, I wasn't getting my cash rewards, instead point rewards. I had to cancel the cards due to the poor customer service in trying to compensate me for the 6 months lost of no cash rewards. In turn cancelling cards will hit my credit score. I will not do anymore credit cards with BOA. Three strikes and I'm out.

We recently obtained this card. It's an excellent card. This card has no annual fee. When you first open the account you can receive $100 cash back when spending at least $500 within the first 90 days. You also get 0% APR during the first 12 billing cycles. So if you you want to buy something this year for the holidays you can actually buy it and pay zero interest rate! as long as you pay it within the 12 months.

This is a solid rewards card for gas and groceries when either of those 2 categories is "out-of-season" on your revolving categories cards. The bonus reward ceiling is competitive at $1500/qtr of spending on gas and/or groceries. Purchase support is less than competitive, but for a card designed to purchase things that are rapidly consumed, like gas and groceries, that's not too big of a deal. Like all rewards cards, the interest rates are relatively high, so be sure to pay off all balances during the grace period.

When I first got the Bank of America Cash rewards card, it seemed like a good deal. When they presented tiers for usage, such as 2x rewards for groceries or 3x rewards for gas, I felt it was a nice gesture. The problem with The BOA cash rewards card is that it is very difficult to get the rewards. Not so much the actual redemption, but earning said rewards. This card has a very average APR, if not bordering on ridiculous. With that being said, why would I be encouraged to put a majority of my everyday purchases on a card that gouged me as much as possible and did not make it even remotely easy to be rewarded. I have had my card for 7 years now, and I have redeemed rewards once in that span. There are better rewards cards out there, and this card is average at best.

I have had this card for 7 years and use it infrequently. I use it a few times of the year, max it and get the max cash reward amount and pay it off. I dont find this to be one of the better cards I have. I much prefer my AMEX card. This card does offer and option of depositing money into my checking account at BOA. I do find that to be a benefit.

I have the BankAmericard VISA card, and I think it is one of the best decisions I’ve made regarding a credit card choice. It has no annual fee, and 0% APR during the first 12 billing cycles. It also offers cash back rewards on all purchases. You have to activate that option each quarter, when you log into your online BankAmericard account. Most purchases you will get 1% cash back. The one time bonus of $100 for spending $500 can be done easily in 90 days. It seems like a lot of people don't like that the rewards back on gas and groceries cap at $1,500 every quarter, but for me that would probably be enough. You can also earn cash back rewards when you shop at select department stores, up to the quarterly maximum. It will not take long to earn enough points to redeem a $25 gift card, and they have almost 100 different gift card options available for you to choose from. It is very simple to manage your BankAmericard VISA online: check your current balance, check your available credit, see your payment due date and amount, pay your bill, check your rewards balance, transfer balances from other credit cards, see your current and past statements, and you can select paperless billing as well. You can also activate Free Alerts to receive personalized phone or e-mail updates regarding specified account activity and transactions on your credit card accounts. The BankAmericard Mobile App lets you pay bills, send money to another person, transfer money, check balances — and even deposit checks using BankAmericard. Just take a picture of the front and back of an endorsed check using the BankAmericard Mobile App. Point. Click. Deposit. It's that easy.

This card is a bit of a bait and switch in that they say you get $100 cash back after you make $500 in purchases but then what? You have a card that is essentiall the same as any other. They do offer 3% cash back on gas and 2% on groceries but only up to $1500!! That is such a low ceiling you blow thru that fast and are left with a card just like any other

I love everything about this card! No annual fee is a MUST for me. I won't even consider a credit card that has an annual fee. 1% back on everything is nice. The one time bonus of $100 for spending $500 can be done easily in 90 days. It seems like a lot of people don't like that the rewards back on gas and groceries cap at $1,500 every quarter, but for me that would probably be enough. It would be nice if it was a tad higher though. The one very big downfall that I see is in the requirements it says you must have EXCELLENT credit, bu the interest rates are 12.99-22.99. That is way to steep for having EXCELLENT credit. I wouldn't recommend this card for most "regular" people.

3% cash back on gas is a good to have when none of your other cards have a 5% cash back in their typical changing categories. However not so good overall for cash back. It is although well backed up with the bank of ameri online deals where you can select your card to receive more cash back in in store purchases. Should think of some 5% category osmehow otherwise it is loosing out appeal.

The Bank of Cash card is a must have. The more you use it the more you save. With 2 percent back on groceries and 3 percent back on gas. The interest rate is a little high but if you pay it all off every month no worries. So by using the card, the more you do, the more you earn. Plenty of time to payoff the balance. So if you like saving money use this card all the time instead of cash or checks. And if you have any problems or questions customer service is always easy and fast.

This card, I would say, is a pretty good card. I have not had any problems with it as of yet. Customer service is good. They are friendly and quite helpful. There is no annual free which I really, really like. It was very easy to apply for and get approved. The card arrives in a timely manner - you don't wait forever wondering if it got lost. The interest rate is about the same as any other card out there. It is variable though so not as simple as another card I have. There are rewards associated with it, but not as rewarding as other cards out there. I like straight cash rewards best. The reward points never expire. That is another plus as far as I am concerned. I would definitely recommend it.

Its really good card with bonus feature like redeem your reward amount into your Bank of America checking account and get 10% extra (Only best thing about the card). But it have the worst customer support, according to them shopping at walmart is not included as grocery store which i think is a commonsense thing. And they ever try to listen to you and start putting their point as they think they are always right.
