Today is Veterans Day and is a time for showing your appreciation for all our service members.
Veterans Day stemmed from the ending of World War I when fighting ceased due to an armistice on the 11th hour of the 11th day on the 11th month. One year later, on the first commemoration of Armistice Day, President Wilson proclaimed, “the reflections of Armistice Day will be filled with solemn pride in the heroism of those who died in the country’s service and with gratitude for the victory…”
