People generally apply for credit cards to meet a specific need such as transferring a high-interest credit card to a low interest credit card or to earn rewards for all purchases. We’ve created an in-depth list of our favorite credit card offers and highlighted what we think is the top reason someone would sign up for each credit card. The below offers are ranked based on overall value to the customer. Here is a list of our top 10 cards to fit anyone’s need:
1. Chase Slate® - BEST FOR: Transferring a credit card balance completely fee-free.
This card is my favorite of all the balance transfer credit cards because it’s the only one on the market offering 0% introductory APR on the balance transfer, in addition to an intro no balance transfer fee when you transfer a balance within the first 60 days, and no annual fee. That’s right; if you perform a balance transfer in the first 60 days of card membership, you pay no fees for the transfer, which is usually 3% or $5. Chase Slate also comes with 0% introductory APR on purchases and balance transfers for the first 15 months, so you have well over a year to pay down your balance totally interest free. The ongoing APR is 13.24%-23.24% Variable.
2. Citi® Diamond Preferred® Card - BEST FOR: Balance transfers and shopping online.
The Citi Diamond MasterCard is currently offering one of the longest introductory periods we've ever seen. Cardholders will get 0% APR for a full 21 months on both balance transfers and purchases. That gives the cardholder almost two years to pay their balance off without paying a penny in interest. It does come with a balance transfer fee of 3% or $5, whichever is greater. This card is perfect for balance transfers and interest free purchases, and provides free access to FICO® Scores. This card also comes with no annual fee.
3. BankAmericard® Credit Card - BEST FOR: Balance transfers and a low ongoing APR.
This card was created specifically for those who want to transfer a balance to a credit card with a lower interest rate. This low-fee credit card offers 0% interest for the first 18 billing cycles on balance transfers if the transfer is made in the first 90 days of card membership, and comes with no annual fee. Furthermore, cardholders could potentially get approved for an on-going interest rate as low as 11.24% APR if they have excellent credit.
4. Chase Freedom® - BEST FOR: Earning 5% cash back on purchases in popular rotating categories.
Chase really nailed it when they created this rewards credit card. The Chase Freedom card has long been considered one of the best rewards credit cards, earning cardholders an average of $412 per year. New card members can earn a $150 Bonus after spending $500 on purchases in the first 3 months of account opening and a $25 Bonus when you add your first authorized user to the card within the same 3 month period. A large 5% cash back can be earned on purchases in popular rotating categories, like at gas stations and restaurants, and you will earn 1% cash back on all other purchases. As if this card doesn’t come with enough perks, you also get an intro APR of 0% for 15 months on purchases and balance transfers, and pay no annual fee!
5. Citi® Double Cash Card – 18 month BT offer - BEST FOR: Earning cash back twice on every purchase.
This is the newest credit card from Citi and also happens to be one of the most unique credit cards around. The Citi Double Cash credit card will earn you cash back TWICE on every purchase; 1% cash back on all purchases, plus 1% cash back when you pay for those purchases. This card keeps it simple with no reward restrictions, caps, rotating categories, or annual fee. An added bonus to carrying this card is the 18 month long intro 0% APR for balance transfers.
6. Citi Simplicity® Card - No Late Fees Ever - BEST FOR: Transferring a balance with high interest to a low interest credit card.
This credit card is currently offering one of the longest introductory periods of 0% APR for 21 months on both balance transfers and purchases. That gives the cardholder almost a full two years to pay their balance off without paying a penny in interest, but it does come with a balance transfer fee of 3% or $5, whichever is greater. The Citi Simplicity card is specifically for balance transfers and interest free purchases, so it doesn’t come with a rewards program. This card also comes with no annual fee.

This travel rewards card will earn a flat 1.5 points on every purchase, every time. Miles can be redeemed for flights, hotels, vacation packages, cruises, rental cars, and even baggage fees.
