The Bottom Line

Membership of Sam’s Club has its benefits, and charge cards like this one can be convenient for businesses. But if you carry a balance the interest charges will likely undermine whatever savings you get by shopping at a discount store.

The Good

Using a charge card lets you postpone payments, if you are willing to pay the interest rate for carrying a balance. Business cards like this one also offer itemized account management, which can help track business expenditures. Best of all, Sam’s Club membership gives you access to the competitively low prices that make Sam’s Club famous around the world.

The Not So Good

The APR for purchases is 21.90%, which is high, and the APR for cash advances is 26.15%, which is extremely high. There is also a surcharge on cash advances of $5 or 3% of the amount of the advance, whichever is greater. The card is also limited by the fact that it can only be used for purchases at Sam’s Club stores and it is not a full-fledged credit card but only an in-house charge card.
