Earn rewards like travel, and travel in style with peace of mind thanks to the various card membership benefits. But there are some drawbacks to this plastic.

The Bottom Line

The perks are nice, and the card offers a chance to earn rewards points. But the rewards accumulate slowly and you cannot carry a balance. That makes it difficult to justify the steep annual fee.

The Good

For every dollar charged to this card you earn one rewards point, and accrued points are redeemable for everything from gifts and shopping to travel and airfare. You also have access to a personal assistant for concierge-type help, access to airport lounges all over the world, and are eligible for some discounts on car rentals. Other features include primary collision damage waiver coverage for rental vehicles, lost or damaged luggage coverage, baggage delay insurance, and travel accident insurance. Cardholders are covered by a price assurance and purchase warranty feature, too, and by roadside assistance if their car breaks down.

The Not So Good

All charges to the card are due each billing period, so you cannot carry a balance on this plastic. There is a $95 annual fee and a 3% foreign transaction fee. If you take a cash advance there is a surcharge of $4 or 4% of the amount of the advance, whichever is greater.
