The Bottom Line

The Visa Classic card touts a lower APR than comparable cards, making this card is a good alternative for those concerned about carrying a balance.  There is no annual fee and a basic rewards program.

The Good

Provided you have an excellent credit history, your interest rate could be as low as 10.9%.  The rewards program lets you earn 1 points per dollar spent on all purchases. Points may be redeemed for a variety of options including airline tickets valued anywhere from $350 to $5,000 or  up to a 7 nights cruise. There is no annual fee, 0% introductory APR, and you enjoy Visa card features, such as extended warranties, travel assistance, and 24-hour coverage for damage due to collision or theft.

The Not So Good

The penalty APR is 21%. There is also a surcharge of $10 or 3% of the amount of each balance transfer or cash advance, whichever is greater.
