If you’re looking to earn credit card rewards on groceries, toiletries and other bulk household purchases made at Costco, you’ll first want to make sure that your credit card is accepted there.

The warehouse club currently has an exclusive credit card partnership with Visa, meaning you can only use Visa credit cards to shop at Costco stores. However, you can use Discover and Mastercard credit cards to make purchases online at Costco.com.

See which payment methods are accepted at Costco stores, as well as which credit cards we recommend based on how you plan to use your card.

Costco payment methods

In addition to Visa cards, Costco accepts the following payment methods:

It’s also important to point out that you don’t have to be a member to shop at Costco.com, but you will incur a 5% surcharge for purchases made online, with the exception of prescription drugs.
