Issued by Comenity Bank, the card provides a rewards program tailored to spending at Lexus dealerships: Cardholders earn . Plus, the card offers the following sign-up bonus for new card members: Earn 5,000 bonus points when you spend $500 outside of Lexus dealerships within the first 90 days of account opening.

Points can be redeemed for Lexus service, parts and accessories, your next eligible Lexus vehicle purchase or lease, cash back as statement credits, gift cards at select merchants or travel experiences.

Lexus Pursuits Visa® cons

No intro APR on purchases. If you need to finance a large expense, such as car repairs, new tires or maintenance, and pay it off over time, you may be better off with a card that doesn’t charge interest for an extended period of time, such as the Wells Fargo Cash Wise Visa® card (see more details below).

With the Lexus Pursuits Visa®, if you don’t pay your balance in full each month, you will incur interest charges at a rate of APR on the unpaid portion.

Low rewards rate on general purchases. While the Lexus Pursuits Visa® offers an elevated rewards rate on Lexus-related purchases, gas, dining and entertainment, all other purchases, including travel and groceries, only earn 1 point per dollar spent.

Foreign transaction fees. If you use your card to make purchases outside of the U.S., you will be subject to foreign transaction fees of 3% of the amount of each transaction in U.S. dollars.

If you want the ability to finance a large expense without paying interest for more than a year while also earning rewards on every purchase, the Wells Fargo Cash Wise Visa® card may be a better fit.

The card offers an intro APR on purchases of 0% intro APR for 15 months on purchases and qualifying balance transfers. After that, a regular APR of 14.49%-24.99% (variable) applies.

Rewards can be redeemed for cash, merchandise, charitable donations, gift cards and travel. Or, you can use your rewards as credit toward a qualified Wells Fargo mortgage, loan, or credit product are applied toward your principal balance.

Which credit card is best for me?

If you’re a fan of Lexus vehicles and regularly get your car serviced at Lexus dealerships, the Lexus Pursuits Visa® can help you earn a generous amount of rewards on those purchases. Beyond that, this card is not much to write home about due to its lack of special financing offers and added benefits.

If you need to finance car expenses and pay them off over time, the Wells Fargo Cash Wise Visa® card may be a better option, since it allows you to carry a balance without paying interest for more than a year.
