Why we like this card: This is a uniquely flexible card with a generous cashback rate, allowing you to select different types of purchases each quarter that can earn the higher cashback rate.

Earn 5% cash back on your first $2,000 in combined eligible net purchases ($100 per quarter) on two categories you choose. That adds up to $400 cash back! Plus, earn 2% cash back on one category you choose and 1% back on other purchases.

Why we like this card: Those looking to travel in luxury will appreciate the U.S. Bank Altitude™ Reserve Visa Infinite® Card.

Cardholders can get up to $325 in statement credits for eligible travel purchases, and through Dec. 31, 2020, takeout, food delivery and dining purchases can also be reimbursed. The ongoing rewards aren’t shabby either: Earn 3X points for every $1 on eligible net travel purchases and mobile wallet spending, earn 1 point for every $1 on all other eligible net purchases.

Best for building credit: U.S. Bank Secured Visa® Card

Why we like this card: If you’re looking to improve your credit score, the U.S. Bank Secured Visa® Card could be the right card for your credit journey. You’ll have to submit a security deposit for the amount of your credit limit – it can range from $300 to $5,000, and must be in increments of $100. The APR is a reasonable 20.49% (variable).

  • Free access to your VantageScore credit score from TransUnion.

What to watch out for: The U.S. Bank Secured Visa® Card charges a $29 annual fee. There are competing secured credit cards with no annual fee, such as the Discover it® Secured.

Best for businesses: U.S. Bank Business Cash Rewards World Elite™ Mastercard®
