American Express® Business Gold Card is a handy business card that's perfect for frequent travelers and those who charge all their business needs to their credit card. With plenty of generous ways to earn reward points, new card members can also Earn 70,000 Membership Rewards® points after you spend $10,000 on eligible purchases with the Business Gold Card within the first 3 months of Card Membership.*.
Cardholders will earn Get 4X Membership Rewards® points on the 2 select categories where your business spent the most each month*. What’s great about the rewards program with this card is that cardmembers are allowed to choose the category you want to earn the most rewards in. The extra point earnings have a purchase cap on each of the categories, but there is no limit on how many 1x points you can earn.
There are helpful tools to manage your budgets and card account, and rewards can be easily redeemed for things like travel, gift cards, and office supplies. You will also be afforded special discounts when you do business with specific companies like FedEx, Hertz, and Hyatt who have partnership arrangements with Amex. There is a $295 per year afterwards.
The Good
- Cardholders can earn extra points in the categories of their choosing, maximizing your rewards. All other purchases receive 1 point per dollar spent, so that you can continue to get rewards on everything you buy.
The Not so Good
- American Express® Business Gold Card is a business charge card so it's not designed for individual use or for someone intending to carry a balance. The annual fee is also higher than most after the first year.
The Bottom Line
American Express® Business Gold Card is a great business card with a generous rewards program. You can earn a large amount of points that you can easily redeem, while also enjoying a whole menu of other handy, business-friendly features.
