To start, there is an excellent Welcome Offer that allows cardholders to receive a large amount of Membership Points®. Earn 120,000 Membership Rewards® points after you spend $15,000 on eligible purchases with your Card within the first 3 months of Card Membership. by making purchases within your first 3 months of Card Membership. American Express Platinum Card members have access to three complimentary airport lounge programs, and with the American Express Global Lounge Collection, cardholders will have access to almost any airport lounge in the world.
Cardholders can earn 1 point per dollar spent on eligible purchases and 5X Membership Rewards® points on flights and prepaid hotels on amextravel.com, and 1X points for each dollar you spend on eligible purchases. With large purchases, cardholders can earn up to 1 million bonus points per year. However, staggering annual fee of $695 is something you need to weigh when deciding if this card is right for you and your business.

The Bottom Line

The Good
Card members receive great travel perks like airport lounge access and bonus points on First and Business class flights. Additionally, card holders will enjoy purchase and return protection, extended warranty on purchases, and concierge service.
The Not so Good
This card isn’t for the non-traveler or the businessperson who’s strictly looking for working capital. Again, the annual fee is $695, but if your credit is good enough to get approved, the perks could really be worth it.
