If you frequently stay at Radisson hotels, you should consider a credit card that rewards you for doing so, like the Radisson Rewards™ Visa® Card. The hotel rewards card, issued by U.S. Bank, offers 3 points per $1 spent in eligible net purchases at participating Radisson Family of Hotels worldwide, 1 point per $1 spent in eligible net purchases everywhere else. Additionally, Radisson Rewards™ Visa® Card members earn 30,000 bonus points - after you spend $1,000 on your card within the first 90 days.

The Radisson family of hotels, which is made up of more than 1,100 properties across the globe, includes the Radisson Collection, Radisson Blu, Radisson, Radisson RED, Park Plaza, Park Inn by Radisson and Country Inn & Suites by Radisson.

Points can be redeemed in a variety of ways, including free award nights, airline miles, gift cards, prepaid cards, donations, TSA PreCheck application fees, Priority Pass access and more.

In this review, we’ll break down the pros and cons of the Radisson Rewards™ Visa® Card, as well as show how it compares its premium counterpart — the Radisson Rewards™ Premier Visa Signature® Card.

Where the Radisson Rewards™ Visa® Card stands out

Sign-up bonus. The Radisson Rewards™ Visa® Card offers 30,000 bonus points - after you spend $1,000 on your card within the first 90 days.

Rewards rate. Earn 3 points per $1 spent in eligible net purchases at participating Radisson Family of Hotels worldwide, 1 point per $1 spent in eligible net purchases everywhere else.

Up to 3 free nights. Cardholders earn one free night e-certificate when they make $10,000 in purchases. Note, there is a limit of three free e-certificates every 12 months.

No annual fee. The Radisson Rewards™ Visa® Card comes with a $0 annual fee.

Additional Radisson Rewards™ Visa® Card benefits

  • Travel and emergency assistance services
  • Auto rental collision damage waiver
  • Warranty manager

Where the Radisson Rewards™ Visa® Card falls short

No intro APR. Because the Radisson Rewards™ Visa® Card does not offer a 0% introductory APR on purchases, it’s not the best card to use if you plan to carry a balance. That said, we recommend paying off your balance in full each month.

Foreign transaction fees. You will be charged foreign transaction fees if you use your Radisson Rewards™ Visa® Card outside of the U.S. The fee is 3% of each foreign purchase transaction or foreign ATM advance transaction in a Foreign Currency.

Compare it with the Radisson Rewards™ Premier Visa Signature® Card

If you like what the Radisson Rewards™ Visa® Card has to offer, but would prefer a higher rewards rate and premium perks, the Radisson Rewards™ Premier Visa Signature® Card may be a better option. Cardholders earn up to 85,000 bonus points - receive 50,000 points after your first purchase plus 35,000 points once you spend $2,500 on your card within the first 90 days. The card also offers 10 points per $1 spent in eligible net purchases at participating Radisson Family of Hotels, 5 points per $1 spent in eligible net purchases everywhere else.

Plus, the Radisson Rewards™ Premier Visa Signature® Card offers 40,000 bonus points each year when you renew your card as well as Gold Elite status after you activate and use your card. Additional perks include lost luggage reimbursement, $1 million travel accident insurance, 24/7 concierge, access to complimentary culinary events and more.

See how the two cards compare side by side in the table below.

Radisson Rewards™ Visa® Card Radisson Rewards™ Premier Visa Signature® Card

Sign-up bonus 30,000 bonus points - after you spend $1,000 on your card within the first 90 days. Up to 85,000 bonus points - receive 50,000 points after your first purchase plus 35,000 points once you spend $2,500 on your card within the first 90 days.

Foreign transaction fee 3% of each foreign purchase transaction or foreign ATM advance transaction in a Foreign Currency 3% of each foreign purchase transaction or foreign ATM advance transaction in a Foreign Currency

The Radisson Rewards™ Premier Visa Signature® Card’s increased sign-up bonus, rewards rate and premium perks come at a price, though. Cardholders are required to spend $1,500 more in the first 90 days (for an average of $833 per month for three months) in order to receive the maximum sign-up bonus. Whereas you’d only have to spend $333 per month for three months to earn the bonus from the Radisson Rewards™ Visa® Card. Plus, the Radisson Rewards™ Premier Visa Signature® Card comes with an annual fee of $75.

That said, the Radisson Rewards™ Premier Visa Signature® Card may be worth the $75 annual fee. For example, you can redeem the Radisson Rewards™ Visa® Card’s sign-up bonus for a one-night stay in a standard room at a category 3 hotel, like the Country Inn & Suites by Radisson in Orlando, Fla. (each night is valued at 28,000 points). The Radisson Rewards™ Premier Visa Signature® Card’s sign-up bonus, on the other hand, will get you three free nights at the same hotel.

The bottom line

Overall, the Radisson Rewards™ Visa® Card is a great choice if you want to earn bonus points on your Radisson hotel stays, but don’t want to commit to paying an annual fee each year. However, if you prefer a higher sign-up bonus and rewards rate and premium perks — and don’t mind paying $75 per year — the Radisson Rewards™ Premier Visa Signature® Card will be a better choice.
