If you’re looking to use your Hilton HHonors points for a Hawaiian vacation, you don’t have too many options to choose from. Nonetheless, we’ve taken the time to determine which of the Hilton properties in Hawaii will provide the best value for families, luxury, beaches, and for the fewest points.

For research purposes, we checked the same dates at all properties to determine approximate value per point. We looked at a couple weekday low season dates as well as a few weekend high season rates to try to get a good value range.

We value Hilton points at just under half a cent each, so that’s a good baseline for a redemption. Anything above 1 cent is a great deal (like a $350 hotel for 35,000 points), and getting 2 cents per point in value is a rare but outstanding deal. When booking with Hilton points it is typically very difficult to find value even as high as 1 cent per point, as you will see in our valuations for Hilton Hawaii properties below.

Some of the most valuable Hilton properties in the Hawaii we have found didn’t even always reach a value of 0.5 cents per point and we typically wouldn’t recommend using your Hilton points at these properties. It would generally make more sense to spend cash at these hotels and earn more Hilton points than use your Hilton points, unless you are looking to get rid of them or have a lot of points. Values also ranged quite a bit for most properties. It may be beneficial to check values for each night of your intended stay and make multiple reservations if some nights provide good value but others do not.

That said, here are our picks for the best value Hilton properties in the Caribbean:

Best for Luxury

Grand Wailea, A Waldorf Astoria Resort – 70,000 to 95,000 points

If you want luxury at a Hilton Property in Hawaii, you can’t go wrong with the Grand Wailea. The hotel is set on 40 acres of tropical gardens just off of Wailea Beach. The spa is often raved about and has over 40 treatment rooms so you shouldn’t have trouble getting in a time or two during your stay. There are multiple restaurants on resort property, 9-pools, and a 2,000 ft river with water slides. There’s something here for everyone! Values on the dates we researched ranged from 0.50 to 0.67 cents per point.

Best for Budget

Hilton Garden Inn Kauai/Wailua Bay – 30,000 to 40,000 points

The least expensive Hilton properties in Hawaii can reach as low as 30,000 points per night. We generally don’t consider that to be in the budget category. The Hilton Garden Inn Kauai/Wailua Bay can be stayed at for 30,000 to 40,000 points per night, and there were nights that cost only 30,000 that we checked. The hotel gets good reviews and has a decent location on Kauai. There’s no beach on-site, but there are two outdoor pools and a whirlpool. Lydgate Beach State Park is nearby. On the dates we checked, values ranged from 0.30 to 0.72 cents per point. On the lower end of that spectrum we would not recommend redeeming points but the upper end is respectable.

Best for Families

Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort – 30,000 to 60,000 points

The Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort is on 22 acres right off Waikiki Beach. This hotel is perfect for families because there’s a kid’s activity program that will keep them entertained all day. Everyone in the family is going to love the saltwater lagoon and five outdoor pools. There are also 20 restaurants and lounges to suit everyone’s tastes. Values on the dates we checked ranged from 0.48 to 0.72 cents per point.

Best for Beach

Hilton Waikoloa Village – 30,000 to 50,000 points

Located on 62 acres on the Kohala Coast, the Hilton Waikoloa Village boasts numerous restaurants and lounges, three pools, eight tennis courts, and two championship golf courses. While there isn’t a wide ocean front beach, those of you that love beaches will appreciate the 4 acre saltwater lagoon that you have access to. Values ranged from 0.46 to 1.16 cents per point on the dates we checked. The upper end of the spectrum was the highest value per point that we saw at any Hilton property in Hawaii on the days we researched.

These are just a start – it’s always worth spending time to research other hotels that you might be interested in staying at and what availability and value looks like on your specific travel dates.
