If, as an American Express® cardmember, you’ve managed to rack up an impressive amount of Membership Rewards points, but don’t want to redeem them for airfare, hotel rooms or merchandise, consider using them for access to VIP and exclusive events in music, theater, sports and more under the Experiences program.

This program allows cardmembers to take advantage of presale tickets and special events, experiences and offers when you use your card to book them on the Membership Experiences website.

By Invitation Only® offers The Platinum Card® from American Express and Centurion® cardmembers customized experiences from sports, fashion, and fine dining to entertainment and performing arts that aren’t available to the general public. We’ll take a look at what each program offers. Terms apply to American Express credit card offers. See americanexpress.com for more information.

American Express Experiences

According to the American Express card search page, all cards — except for The Amex EveryDay® Credit Card from American Express and The Amex EveryDay® Preferred Credit Card from American Express — come with Experiences. Instead, these two cards only come with Ticketmaster under its partnership with American Express.

American Express provides exclusive access to ticket presales and card member-only events, including Broadway shows, concerts, concert tours and sporting events, along with discounts. Sign up for Entertainment Access E-mails to be one of the first to know about upcoming events.

Examples of currently available experiences include:

  • Celine Dion at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, Las Vegas, March through June 8, 2019.
  • La Tablée™ – A Celebration of the wines of the Northern & Southern Rhône, Jan. 30-Feb. 2, 2019.
  • General Admission and VIP Festival Passes to Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival Weekend 2, April 19-21, 2019.

The Experiences terms and conditions state the following:

  • During the specified sales period, tickets are available exclusively to all American Express Card Members
  • Tickets must be purchased with an American Express Card
  • Offer subject to availability, not all seats are available and blackout dates apply.

By Invitation Only®

It’s understandable that American Express would reserve its best experiences for its top customers — The Platinum Card® from American Express and the Centurion®. One of those benefits is this program that offers exclusive access to once-in-a-lifetime experiences related to performing arts, fine dining, sports and more that are generally not available to the public. For example, events currently available include:

  • VIP Access to Grand Prix de Monaco, Monte Carlo, May 24-26, 2019.
  • La Paulée en Fête: Skiing, Burgundy & Champagne in the French Alps, March 18-22, 2019.
  • Exclusive VIP Access to Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival, April 19-21, 2019.
  • Wimbledon VIP Centre Court Opening Experience, July 1-2, 2019.

Under the rules of By Invitation Only, transportation and accommodation costs are additional unless otherwise stated, with the price indicated covering event costs only. All sales are final and non-refundable, and resale is prohibited. Payment must be made using an eligible American Express card. Details and prices are subject to change, packages are available on a first-come, first-served basis and availability is limited.

Aside from tickets and events via Experiences, cardmembers can also participate in other entertainment-based programs. Platinum Card Concierge helps you find last-minute restaurant reservations or shop for exclusive and rare gifts. There is no charge for this service, but the cardmember is responsible for any shipping or purchased items or fees associated with meetings or even planning. Call 1-800-525-3355 and say “concierge.”
