If your online business is in need of short-term financing, but you don’t want to pay the fees or interest charges that typically come with traditional loans or cash advances, you may want to take a look at the Brex For Ecommerce card.
The Brex For Ecommerce card, designed for ecommerce businesses, allows cardholders to carry an interest-free balance for 60 days. Plus, the card grants credit limits of 50% to 100% of your company’s projected monthly sales — up to $5 million.
Keep in mind that in order to be eligible for the card, your company needs to have a minimum of $100,000 in monthly sales and must have been in operation for at least one year.
In this review, we’ll break down the pros and cons of the Brex For Ecommerce, and show how it compares to the Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card.

Where the Brex For Ecommerce stands out
Introductory bonus. Cardholders receive 75,000 in Brex Rewards points upon signup and waived card fees for life (equal to $750+ value)*.
Points can be redeemed for a statement credit, cash back or business travel through Brex Travel. Points can also be transferred to several travel loyalty partners, including JetBlue TrueBlue, Air France KLM Flying Blue and AeroMexico Club Premier.
60-day payment terms. Instead of the typical month-long billing cycle offered by most credit cards, the Brex For Ecommerce gives you 60 days to pay your card balance.
For example, if you make a purchase using your Brex For Ecommerce today, you will be responsible for paying the total amount back in 60 days. If you make a purchase tomorrow, you will be required to pay the total amount back 61 days from today.
No personal liability. Because Brex underwrites the company and not the individual, the card does not require a personal guarantee. Therefore, your personal credit score will not be impacted, even if you are not approved for the card.
No additional fees. The Brex For Ecommerce does not charge fees or interest — unlike providers of traditional loans, merchant cash advances, working capital loans and other financing options. However, you will not be able to revolve a balance on the card beyond the 60-day period.
Additionally, you will incur an annual fee of $0.
Additional benefits
- Instant approval
- 24/7 fraud protection
- U.S. based support team
- Expense management tools
Where the Brex For Ecommerce falls short
Eligibility limitations. To be eligible for the Brex For Ecommerce, your company must have been in operation for at least one year and make a minimum of $100,000 in monthly sales. Note that sole proprietorships are not eligible to apply.
For online businesses only. The Brex For Ecommerce is designed exclusively for online brands and retailers, and not brick-and-mortar businesses.
Cannot earn points on purchases. While the Brex For Ecommerce offers a sign-up bonus, it does not allow cardholders to earn additional points when they make purchases using their card.
However, cardholders are eligible to receive special discounts on products and services to help run and grow their businesses. For example, cardholders can receive up to $150 in Google Ads credit, a 20% discount on an annual Zoom membership and a 50% discount on the first year of business credit services from Experian. Terms may apply.
Compare it to the Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card
If you have a sole proprietorship, if your business simply doesn’t produce $100,000 or more each month or if you think you’ll need to revolve a balance longer than two months — but you still want to enjoy an interest-free time period to pay back business purchases — you should consider the Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card.
See how the cards compare side by side in the table below.

Unlike the Brex For Ecommerce, the Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card allows cardholders to carry a balance past 60 days. In fact, new cardholders receive an introductory APR on purchases of 0% Intro APR on Purchases for 12 months, then a regular APR of 13.24% - 19.24% Variable applies.
The bottom line
If you are the owner of an ecommerce business that generates $100,000 or more in revenue each month, the Brex For Ecommerce offers a great opportunity to finance purchases without incurring fees or interest charges for 60 day periods and without impacting your personal credit.
However, if your business brings in less than $100,000 per month, or if you have a brick-and-mortar business, the Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card is a good alternative. Along with earning cash back on every purchase, cardholders can finance business expenses for an entire year without paying interest.
