Korean Skypass miles are some of the best around for getting to Asia and beyond in First or Business Class, with lots of award space, and good mileage prices, even when you factor in fuel surcharges.

The SKYPASS Visa Signature Card from U.S. Bank usually has a pretty boring introductory offer of 15,000 miles after you spend $2,000 within 90 days.

But from time to time U.S. Bank increases the offer, and it’s doing that again.

Until April 30, 2016 you can get up to 30,000 miles for a new SKYPASS Visa Signature Card online: 15,000 bonus miles after your first purchase and 15,000 additional bonus miles after spending $2,000 in 90 days. The deal is available for both the personal and business versions of the card.

The SKYPASS Visa Signature Card offers:

  • Double Miles on Korean Air ticket purchases.
  • 2,000 miles on your account renewal
  • 2 KAL Lounge passes each year
  • No foreign transaction fees
  • An $80 annual fee that’s not waived

In addition, there’s a targeted deal in the mail that offers 40,000 miles for the personal SKYPASS Visa Signature Card, and up to 45,000 miles for the Business version of the card.

How can you find the targeted deal?

Unfortunately there’s no way to grab the targeted deal online without having a piece of mail in your hands.

You could go to skypassvisa.com/myoffer and enter your details, but it requires you to enter a unique offer code. And U.S. Bank’s pre-qualification tool doesn’t seem to display this offer, even if you got it in the mail.

But you can call 1-866-759-7777 and have the phone agent do a reverse lookup to see if your name and address are targeted for the offer.

Is this a good deal?

The SKYPASS Visa Signature Card is a transfer partner of Chase Ultimate Rewards®, so if you have a Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card, this is a great companion to build on the points you already have.

Skypass miles are good for flying on Delta, Alaska, and Hawaiian Airlines.

  • You can get to Hawaii for 25,000 miles roundtrip on Delta flights
  • Or fly Alaska or Hawaiian Airlines flights for 30,000 miles roundtrip
  • Getting to Europe on SkyTeam carriers is just 50,000 miles in Economy Class, but beware of fuel surcharges

The really big values are in First and Business Class on Korean’s own flights.

Korean Airlines first class seat

You can get to much of Asia for 125,000 miles in Business and 160,000 miles in First Class with very generous award availability that’s easy to search and book online.
