My co-worker recommended this card when we decided to move to Mexico. My wife and I have had this card for almost 5 years. We have used it for furnishing our house to buying dog food in Mexico never any problems. When we return to the states we notify Capital One and our punching goes on. If we forget. we get notify immediately of a purchase not made in the country we are suppose to be in. Best advice I have received. Couldn't do without my Capital One!

I would give it 5/5. This is because it has everything you want in a card. NO Annual Fee, and the Rewards Rate is Outstanding at 1.25% on every DOLLAR/every DAY and that by itself it pretty remarkable!! Like I said, when I get my credit fixed.... I'm IN!!

I have had the VentureOne card for 5 years now when it initially came out and I absolutely, love. it. When my husband and I got married and started comparing credit card rewards to decide which one was best, this one won hands down. Now he is an authorized user on my card and we use it to pay for everything we do together. Best part, we use our miles to redeem the money we spend on traveling which has allowed us to afford more trips and experiences than we would have been able to. No annual fee, free credit tracker, no restrictions on earning/redeeming miles. Get this card if you value rewards like I do

Be careful in Foreign countries, new cards with chip very difficult to use, suggest you use or take a second card. Customer support services for international issues not very effective or responsive. Escalation path for issue resolution not defined nor understood by different support centers.

Yes, the problem I am having using cards in the US while in Europe is that only now the US cards have the chip HOWEVER European cards have a PIN and a chip. Because we don't have a pin and chip, European banks charge the businesses that accept cards without both a PIN and chip more processing fees and so many businesses don't want to accept them because it costs them more as it is less secure. I wish I could get a PIN and chip here in the US

At 1.25 miles per dollar, the card looks good on the surface, but miles required per trip are based on trip cost. What would normally cost 25,000 -35,000 points for a domestic flight now would only allow $250 -$350 dollars per ticket. Hard to find a flight for that low a price..

But.....all travel is relevant, such as a car rental, hotel, gas, concerts, events, etc. so it isn't limited to just the airfare. If you book early enough usually lower fares are available.

By: Tee Pee | Apr 10, 2016

Yeah. Good point. I have been wondering about this. Are there any cards out there that allow for more miles? How about a card that 20,000 miles got you at least across the country?

By: Christine Rudek | Jan 13, 2018

Well isn’t it possible to use your miles for a plane ticket and make up the difference with cash?

This was one of the first credit cards I had ever had. I have been very pleased with it. No annual fee, great customer service and reward points that you can use for more than just airline tickets.
