EDITORS' RATINGS OVERALL SCORE

9.0

Overall

The Bottom-Line

For anyone focused on rebuilding their credit who might have had trouble qualifying for traditional cards, this is a good credit card option. Featuring a low APR, this card can improve your credit history by reporting to the credit bureaus.

The Good

This card reports to the major credit bureaus monthly so that it can actually improve your credit score when you make your payments on time.

The Not So Good

The start-up fees and servicing fees can be high but for anyone in a bad credit situation, this is still one of the lowest APR cards around.

CARD DESCRIPTION

The First PREMIER® Bank MasterCard®/Visa® can help card holders with less than perfect credit get on the road to credit repair by reporting monthly to the major credit bureaus.  This card offers a 5% bonus on all payments for 12 months; no security deposit and a very reasonable APR.

If you have less that perfect credit and you want an opportunity to repair it or you need a credit card for emergencies, getting a rental car, etc. then this may be the card option for you. It has a low APR on purchases, a quality customer service department and it is accepted anywhere you see the MasterCard or Visa logo.

This card has an annual fee of $48 which is higher than many other cards but still not bad in comparison to other cards being offer to people with less than perfect credit. While the fees can be a bit high, they come with many benefits to people who are unable to get a better card with their credit score. A FICO score of 520 or higher is typically recommended for this card.

When you apply for the First
PREMIER® Bank card you can receive a credit decision instantly in most cases. Fees can be a bit higher than credit cards for good credit but for someone with less than perfect credit, they are comparable.
