The Good

Six months at 0% interest for six months plus opportunity to earn up to 5% Cashback in select categories and up to 1% on all other purchases.

The Not So Good

Maximum cap on 5% cashback bonus is $400; must spend in excess of $3,000 to qualify for full 1% cashback; default rate can be quite high.

CARD DESCRIPTION

The Discover Student Card is a good option for the college or university student. You can have the benefits of a credit card while saving money on purchases. Students earn cash in a variety of ways and there are unlimited cash rewards.

Additionally, you can earn up to 20% cash back when you shop online through Discover and there are double rewards from a select 100+ bonus partner merchants. The card features more than 150 different card designs from which to choose.

The Discover® Student card allows students with good credit the opportunity to pay 0% APR on purchases for six months. There is a maximum cap on the 5% cash back bonus of $400. Students must spend more than $3,000 to qualify for the full 1% cash back and the regular rate after the introductory period on the card can be high depending on your credit rating.
