Expert Reviews

From the CompareCards.com Editorial Team

Unlike many Simmons cards that are prepaid, the Simmons First Visa Platinum Credit Card is a full-fledged credit card designed for consumers with excellent credit.

But it is distinguished from other Visa cards that require great credit and offer full features because it has an exceptionally low interest rate. The standard APR on this card is only 7.50% and that applies to both purchases and balance transfers. Plus there is no annual membership fee and no additional fee for doing a balance transfer. That makes it a great card for those who want to move their other high-interest card balances to this one to consolidate their debt under a lower rate.

The card also offers up to a million dollars worth of travel insurance, there is car rental loss and damage coverage, and if the card is stolen you can get an emergency replacement and an emergency cash advance to help you until the new card arrives.

For those who have excellent credit this Visa card offers several features that come standard with most good credit cards, but it has an exceptionally low APR of just 7.50%. There is no annual fee, either, and no fee to transfer balances so it is a good card for anyone wanting to get out from under a high APR burden.

Yes you need good credit, but there is no finer APR around. The customer service is great too. Someone actually answers the phone when you call. I wish there were more credit cards like them. The only down side of this credit card is the website doesn't have Auto Pay and as of now they aren't running any Reward program. Auto Pay allows you to never miss a payment instead of having to remember the due date each month. Still a great card in my book.
