Over the Past 60 Days!
There are two REI Mastercards, the REI Mastercard and this more prestigious one, which is called the REI World Elite Mastercard.
If you are a loyal customer of REI, this card may offer a lot of value. You must be an REI member but REI lifetime membership is only $20 and entitles you to other special benefits. The APR and fees are reasonable, and the World Elite perks are top-notch – especially if you travel frequently.
The difference between the REI Mastercard and this World Elite Mastercard is that this card offers additional special World Elite perks and benefits such as travel and trip cancelation assistance and concierge services.
You also earn 5% back on purchases at REI stores; 2% back on groceries (through March 31, 2017, which may not be renewed); and 1% back on everything else. Make a purchase with your new REI MasterCard within 60 days of card approval and you will also receive a $100 gift card as a sign-up incentive.
You must be an REI member to apply. But rebates earned on purchases are delivered along with the Annual REI Dividend notice, so you'll want to be a member to receive the rewards.
The APR on purchases or balance transfers is 11.24% to 23.24% based on your creditworthiness, and for cash advances the APR is 24.24%. There is an additional surcharge on balance transfers of 3% of the amount of each transfer or $5 minimum, whichever is greater.
Similarly, there is a surcharge on cash advances of 4% of the amount of each advance or $5 minimum, whichever is greater. The fee for foreign transactions or foreign cash advances at an ATM is 2% for transactions in U.S. Dollars or 3% for transactions denominated in a foreign currency.
