The Ready Platinum card is a prepaid card accepted anywhere that Visa cards are honored. Best of all there is no credit check, there are no late fees or interest payments, and virtually anybody who applies for this card can get one. Because it is a prepaid card, however, you can also use it to charge purchases or bill payments after first depositing into your Ready Platinum account at least enough money to cover those expenses.

As with other prepaid cards there are also fees. Under the fee plan of the Ready Platinum some of those are waived. For example customer service is free, balance inquiries are free, and online bill paying features are also free. But there is a $9.95 activation fee, a $14.95 monthly maintenance fee, and an ATM withdrawal fee of $2 per transaction.

The Ready Platinum is a decent card for those who have no credit history or bad credit, and it is especially designed for those who may want to take advantage of free online bill paying features and free customer service and balance inquiries.

The Bottom-Line
This is a card for those with poor credit or other problems getting a conventional credit card. Deposit cash into the account and then it works more or less like a debit card because as you do transactions those are deducted from your cash on deposit. The card is accepted where Visa cards are honored, and although there are miscellaneous monthly fees some fees are waived under the Ready Platinum fee schedule.

The Good
This card can be gotten without a credit check and it offers free online bill-paying and free customer service.

The Not So Good
There is a $14.95 monthly maintenance fee, and an ATM withdrawal fee of $2 per transaction.
