For business owners that depend on PayPal for processing business payments, the PayPal Business Debit MasterCard is a viable option for your business. Unlike a typical debit card, this card offers 1% cash back on eligible transactions. Meaning the benefits could be immense for your business. With the ability to earn cash back for spending plus management of prepaid spending, your business could certainly thrive with this debit card.
The function of the card is simple, the money available in your PayPal account is instantly available on the card. Thus each time a purchase is made on the card, the money automatically comes from the funds in the PayPal account. So it's just like a typical debit card except the funds are coming from the PayPal account verus the typical business bank account.
There is no annual fee, so you can earn cash back rewards without having to pay a pesky membership fee. In additon, the 1% cash back program offers businesses the chance to save on spending. However the ATM withdrawal fees on this card could really add up. Each ATM withdrawal will rack up a fee of $1.50 and non-U.S. ATM withdrawal will incur the $1.50 fee and a 1% foreign transaction fee. Translation? You may not want to use this debit card for ATM withdrawals.
In order to be eligible for the 1% cash back offer, you must have either a PayPal Premier or PayPal Business Account. Transactions that require your PIN and cash withdrawals are not eligible for the cash back offer. Cash back is calculated at the ending of each calendar month and added to your PayPal account. If your account is not active for 12 months, you'll no longer be eligible for the cash back program.
This card has no annual fee and offers businesses an opportunity to control spending with a prepaid spending limit.
