From the CompareCards.com Editorial Team:

If you are a frequent Delta flier – or want to fly Delta more often by earning some free tickets through a travel rewards program – then the Delta Reserve card from Amex may be just the plastic you’ve been waiting to get.

You can earn up to 10,000 Medallion Qualification Milesjust for signing up and making a purchase, plus you can qualify for 15,000 bonus miles if you spend $30,000 during any given year. Or earn the maximum annual bonus miles of 30,000 by spending $60,000 a year. You can redeem miles for flight rewards without any blackout dates, too, and you get to take advantage of VIP treatment through Amex concierge service and other features.

Additional travel perks include, for example, being able to check your first bag for free on any Delta flight and also treating your travel companions to a free checked bag too. Up to nine people on your reservation party can each save as much as $50 per roundtrip, and when you travel through airports on Delta flights you can enjoy Delta Sky Club access for you and two of your guests.  Now for the kicker: the annual fee for this little piece of plastic is an extraordinary $450.

The Bottom-Line
This is a rather pricey Amex card for those who want to rack up Delta awards, and it is most appropriate for those who spend at least $50,000 to $60,000 a year on their credit card. That way you can earn enough bonuses and perks to justify the annual fee which is $450.

The Good
With this card you get lots of freebies that benefit the frequent air traveler, including ones that extend to your travel companions. You can also earn lots of bonus points by being a heavy credit card spender.

The Not So Good
The annual fee is $450.
