From the CompareCards.com Editorial Team:

The Capital One Classic Platinum sounds like a really exclusive card reserved for those with super excellent credit, because usually platinum cards are the luxury level of plastic. But in this case the name is not exactly how it sounds, because this particular card is designed for those people who have so-so credit, not spectacular credit. So if you have a few dings on your credit history and your score is a bit low – but you still have decent credit – then this may be your card.

In exchange for getting a card for people with limited or damaged credit, you can expect to pay an annual fee of $39 and higher rates of interest. But if you use the card wisely and don’t carry over a balance, then this card can help you rebuild your credit. Or you can apply for one of the many 0% introductory rate deals this card frequently extends to new customers. The rate usually lasts for 6-12 months, and that is a really attractive feature if you need a good credit card with an amazing APR to tide you over for a few months until you can pay down your balances. There are also no foreign transaction fees, which is a nice feature if you plan to go overseas and do some shopping.

The Bottom-Line
For those with less than perfect credit this card is a good option, especially if you are able to take advantage of a temporary 0% interest rate introductory offer.

The Good
A good choice for those with dinged-up credit, this card also offers perks like roadside assistance and fraud protection. But one of the best features is a 0% introductory APR if you are able to qualify for that “teaser” rate.

The Not So Good
You have to pay an annual fee of $39 and this card doesn’t offer any special treats or perks like rewards or cash back. It is also intended for those who don’t have perfect credit, so if your credit is above average you might do better choosing a different card.
