The Bottom Line

Although the rates and fees are high, if you are trying to rebuild your credit and like to stay at Best Western, this card may offer some benefits you can use to earn discounted or free hotel stays.

The Good

You can set your own credit line with deposits between $300-$5,000 – even if you have less than stellar credit. Then, if you maintain a good on-time payment history, you may be able to graduate to an unsecured, full-fledged credit card in as little as 11 months.
You receive 5,000 bonus points after your first purchase and earn 13 points per $1 on Best Western stays, plus one point per dollar on all other purchases made with the card.

The Not So Good

There is a $40 annual fee.
The APR for purchases and balance transfers is 21.24%, and there is a 25.49% APR for cash advances.
There is a surcharge fee of either $10 or 5%, whichever is greater, of the amount of each balance transfer or cash advance. There is also a 3% foreign transaction fee.
