The Amex EveryDay Preferred Credit Card is an excellent credit card for people who spend a lot on groceries and gas. Cardholders will earn 3x Membership Rewards points at US supermarkets on up to $6,000 per year in purchases. You'll also earn 2x points on gas and 1x points on all other purchases. Since supermarket and gasoline purchases are two of the biggest expenses for most households, this card makes it easy to save money.
There's also the chance to earn 15,000 Membership Rewards points when you make at least $1,000 worth of purchases within the first 3 months of card membership. As if that wasn't enough, you will receive a 50% points bonus every billing cycle that you use your card to make 30 or more purchases.
The Amex EveryDay Preferred Card even comes with an entice intro APR. Cardholders will receive 0% APR for 12 months on both purchases and balance tansfers. After the intro period is up, the ongoing APR will be 13.49%-23.49% Variable. The annual fee is $95, but it's not hard to cover that cost with all the rewards you will earn. Cardholders will also enjoy the top-rated customer service perks for which American Express is famous including extended warranty purchase protection and special member discounts from Amex partners.
The Amex Everyday Preferred Card is the ultimate rewards card because it offers generous ways to earn points without heavy limitations, and there are no rotating categories. Plus, there is an intro 12 month 0% APR and you can earn 15,000 points if you spend $1,000 or more within the first 3 months of card membership.
What we like about this card is that you can earn rewards that make most other rewards programs look mundane by comparison. Cardholders receive 3x points at US supermarkets (on up to $6,000 per year), 2x points at U.S. gas stations and 1 point on all other purchases.
You must have excellent credit to qualify. There is also a $95 membership fee (But the yearly fee can be easily offset by the rewards and bonuses you can earn with this card).
