From the CompareCards.com Editor Team: The AccountNow Prepaid Visa Card is a pretty standard prepaid credit card, which means you can qualify for one instantly even if you have terrible credit. But you have to put money into the card account before you use it, and then your card limit is based on how much cash you have in the account. Setting up your account for free automatic deposits can entitle you to a $25 bonus. It is possible to make deposits or load money to your prepaid card at more than 130,000 retail locations across the USA – including places like Wal-Mart, 7-11, CVS, Rite Aid, Walgreen’s, Kroger, and Winn Dixie. But loading your AccountNow Prepaid Visa Card at these locations means you will also pay a transaction fee to the retailer – and those range from about $3.95 to $4.95. Direct deposits can be done for free. But if you don’t enroll in Direct Deposit you pay extra fees such as a $2 fee to phone customer service. The AccountNow Prepaid Visa Card offers free text alerts to help you track your deposits, and you are allowed to make up to 30 deposits per month. Deposit $3000 or more in a month on your card and you pay absolutely no monthly service fee on your AccountNow Gold Card. Otherwise you’ll have to pay $9.95 per month. AccountNow also offers Online Bill Pay service which you can use to schedule the automatic monthly on-time payment of bills like rent, cell phone charges, or utility bills. |
