If you are in the military or have military affiliation, then the Military Star Rewards MasterCard may be a credit card you should consider carrying. Two Versions of the Military Star Card

It is important to understand that there are two versions of the Military Star card. The standard card is only accepted at military exchange retail stores.  The second is the Military Star Rewards MasterCard, which is accepted anywhere in the world where MasterCard is accepted; it makes no difference whether the merchant is of military affiliation or not.

If you qualify for a Military Star Rewards MasterCard, you may also qualify for other non-military affiliated credit cards. It would be wise to do some comparison shopping to find the plastic that is right for you. Earning 2% cash back at exchanges – and everywhere during the first 60 days of card membership – is an attractive feature, and 0% APR on balance transfers during the first year is another great feature. Paying just  10.24% APR on purchases is very reasonable compared to most credit cards in today’s market, even for those with excellent credit.

The Bottom Line

We think this is a great rewards card for any consumer, although it's only available to those of uniformed services. The APR would be hard to beat anywhere else, but there are some cards out there that can earn you even more robust cashback through their rewards programs, even earning 2% at any of the above listed Military store locations. Apply for the Military Star Rewards MasterCard and to see the terms and conditions, or read reviews of military credit cards offered by Chase.

It always pays to shop around and compare, and then choose a credit card that best meets your particular needs and matches your spending habits and credit eligibility.  Here are a few more credit card offers you may want to consider:
