In general, credit cards with an annual fee are considered the best credit cards on the market due to their extra benefits and features. Take a look at the Platinum Card from AMEX; it comes with a $450 annual fee, but the perks are well worth that amount. The downside to cards that charge an annual fee is that just increases your cost to carry credit. The cost of carrying credit already includes interest charges, penalty fees, and other various fees such as for balance transfers or a cash advance.
We already published the best no annual fee credit cards for personal use. Here is one of the last articles that’s part of our continuing resource list.
Best No Annual Fee Business Cards From Our Partners
All major issuers have business credit cards, though some offer more than others. You’ll notice that all business cards below offer rewards. That’s because we don’t believe there’s any real purpose to carrying a credit card that doesn’t earn you rewards, with the exception to those strictly looking to complete a balance transfer at a great 0% rate. Here, we have the best business credit cards by issuer that have no annual fee.
Ink Business Cash℠ Credit Card - This business card is offered by Chase and offers an intro APR of 0% for 12 months on purchases and balance transfers. You get 5% cash back on the first $25,000 spent annually in combined office supply stores, and on cellular phone, landline, internet, and cable TV services; 2% cash back on the first $25,000 spent annually on combined gas station and restaurant purchases; and 1% cash back on all other purchases with no limit to amount you can earn. An additional bonus for new cardholders is $300 bonus cash back after you spend $3,000 in the first 3 months from account opening.
SimplyCash® Plus Business Credit Card from American Express- This business credit card by American Express offers an intro APR of 0% for 9 months on purchases and has an on-going APR of 12.74%-19.74% variable. Cardholders can earn 5% cash back at US office supply stores and telephone services, 3% cash back on the category of your choice, and 1% cash back on other purchases. This card makes it easy to reinvest in your business with automatic cash back rewards. You can receive a special offer of up to $400 in statement credits during your first year of card membership. The rewards program for this credit card can be somewhat complex so it's important to read over the terms and conditions that may apply.
CitiBusiness ThankYou Card- This card is offered by Citi and designed for business owners with established credit history. The intro period is a short 6 months of 0% APR on purchases with an on-going APR of 13.24% variable. Cardholders will earn 3 ThankYou points for every dollar you spend on eligible rotating category purchases, and then 1 ThankYou Point is earned on all other purchases with no caps on the number of points you can earn. The rotating bonus categories are all related to possible business expenses:
- Q1: 3 points on advertising, office supplies, and professional services
- Q2: Computer equipment, software, and telecommunications
- Q3: Airlines, hotels, and car rentals
- Q4: Dining and entertainment
*This offer has since expired or is no longer available.
US Bank Business Cash Rewards Visa- We chose this business card because, like the Cash Rewards for Business MasterCard, it offers the most rewards, has a nice intro period, and isn’t affiliated with any airline or association. Cardholders will earn 3% cash back on cellular, gas, and net purchases made at office supply stores, and also earn 1% on all net purchases. You won’t have to worry about rewards expiring and you receive an annual bonus equal to 25% of the prior year’s cash rewards on your account anniversary date. The 0% intro APR is for 9 months, which then turns to the on-going rate of 11.99% -17.99% variable. In order to bypass the annual fee, you must charge a purchase to the card at least once per year or you get charged a $25 fee.
The Blue for Business® Credit Card from American Express OPEN- This business card by American Express comes with 0% introductory APR for the first 15 months, with an on-going APR 11.74% - 19.74% variable, based on your creditworthiness. New cardholders can earn up to 25,000 Membership Rewards points; earn 10,000 Points after making their first purchase on Card within first 3 months and earn an additional 15,000 Points after you spend $5,000 in the first 6 months of card membership. Cardholders will earn 1x point per dollar spent, but you also have the chance to earn 30% more points each year with the annual Relationship Bonus based on how much you spend. *Terms apply.

Compare business cards side-by-side to determine which one is best for your business needs. Some business cards require a minimum spending limit in order to get certain rewards, or a bonus, or in order to pay no annual fee. How much you plan to spend per year and the items you plan to purchase play a major role in deciding what business credit card to apply for.
