The cost of a college education is becoming more and more of a burden for many students and their families. In 2013, college grads had an average of $35,200 in college-related debt and tuition accounts for between 1/3 and 1/2 of the total cost of attendance. Seventy percent of college students graduate with loans, but the return on investment for a college education remains at 14-15%.

One of the best ways to offset these costs is for students to apply for scholarships, and luckily, there are thousands of college scholarships available for students. Some require hours of work to apply and have very specific guidelines and requirements. But if you’re short on time or worried that your GPA may disqualify you, other scholarships have very minimum requirements and the application process is a snap.
