I had good credit before then got 2 credit cards from capital. I like capital and use to pay the balance off each month but after I got a newer car with payments twice what I asked for, I just pay twice the minimum balance each month. Now my fica sucks and my score is below 600. ouch! I don't get it. I pay all my bills ontime. But my fica score bites. I would like to transfer my balance to a 0% interest card and now I can't.HELP!!!!!!

Hi Pamela,

With a credit score below 600, you're options will be very limited in terms of what you can get approved for. In fact, it is unlikely that you will be able to get approved for any credit card with a 0% APR. One option that may work for you is the Capital One QuicksilverOne. However, you won't be able to transfer a balance from one Capital One card another another Capital One card. So if your current credit card is with Capital One, then the QuicksilverOne won't be a viable option for you.

I would like to know if I can add more than one credit card balance to balance transfer card, I like the City Simplicity card 21 months 0% APR.

Hi Delia,

While the terms for balance transfer vary from card to card, you are usually able to transfer more than one balance onto one credit card. However, the amount you're able to transfer will depend on your credit worthiness and vary from person to person.

Why are all Credit Cards that are the best cards are for Excellant, Good, Average, and Fair Credit? People with Poor Credit can't get anything, unless you get charged with a very high APR rate, or your interest rate is sky high. Poor ratings deserve a second chance don't they!! It's just not fair!

Poor credit receives a higher interest rate because interest rates reflect the risk of loaning money to a borrower. Good credit shows that the lender will have a better probability of getting paid. So there is a reward for not posing a risk. The sad truth is that you have to prove that you don't need money to borrow it....

Anyone know, are medical bills weighed the same as credit card bills or are they counted to a lesser degree?

By: Evelyn Mazzella | Aug 12, 2015

Medical bills are not weighed at all on credit report for credit scoring. Is that what you mean?

By: Rebecca DuPerry | Oct 9, 2015

They will tell you that, but I do not believe it for one second. I have been trying to re-finance, get a line of credit, get a credit card to help me with consolidating my medical bills and everything else. They weigh in my medical bills along with everything else. I have asked the question of are they supposed to do that and have been told, it is their choice. Is it against the law, have yet to get any Credit Bureau to confirm. The Federal Trade Commission confirms that they are supposed to weight the medical not at all and are working on educating the vendors. You can call back, get a different person with a different answer. Good Luck!

I lost my job and I have been trying to find a credit card/company that will consolidate my credit cards. I got the Chase Slate, but it only gives me $1000. That helps, but I need more to really help me.

I have a question i have a small buisness that i am just getting off the ground when i was younger i messed me credit up i have like a 569, And i am looking for a small limit that will look over my past even though i know the interest will be through the roof, But i am willing to deal with it to get something small and pay it off real fast to build my credit back up any suggestions? would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Sara,

With a credit score of 569, your options will be very limited in terms of which credit cards you can get approved for. One card to consider is the Credit One Bank Credit Card. This card is designed for people who have poor credit and are looking to rebuild. As you mentioned, paying your balance on time and in full is the best strategy to build your credit as quickly as possible, so be sure to stay on top of your payments!

I am looking for a great business credit card with no personal surety only based on my 27 year business experience and DUN credit score.

By: CompareCards | Jun 8, 2015

Hi Ernest.

Business credit card approvals are actually based on a combination of both your personal and your business credit. If your business has a lengthy, positive credit history it will be a big help in getting approved for a business credit card, but you’re personal credit history will probably be taken into account as well.

That said, the credit card I would recommend would be the Chase Ink Cash Business. This card has no annual fee, 0% APR for 12 months, and an excellent cash back program! Be sure to check out our business credit cards page so see all the best options!

I am looking at possible bankruptcy due to large medical expenses. Is there a card that I can get that will understand my medical problems.

By: CompareCards | Jun 8, 2015

Hi Marysue

The credit card that currently has the longest introductory period for 0% APR is the Citi Simplicity. This card would give you 21 months to pay off your medical expenses totally interest free. On top of that, there is no annual fee and no late fees or penalty rate if you happen to miss a payment! If you plan to put the large expenses on a credit card, I would establish a solid plan to pay down the debt as quickly as you can. Because once the introductory period is up, you'll begin accruing interest on the balance, which could bring you further into debt if you can’t handle the payments.

Does anyone know of a credit card with 0% interest and no transfer fee?

By: CompareCards | Jun 2, 2015

Hi Linda,

The Chase Slate is the best option if your looking for a fee-free balance transfer credit card. It's currently the only card on the market that offers no balance transfer fee, no annual fee, AND it has 0% APR on purchases and balance transfer for the first 15 months!

Compare 0% Balance Transfer Credit Cards & Offers

One of the main reasons that people shop for a new credit card is in order to find banks that offer special 0% balance transfer credit cards for the longest period of time and with low transfer fees. In recent years consumers have started to use credit cards more wisely than they did before the big credit crisis. Now they tend to shift high-interest card balances to cards that offer a lower APR, because in doing so they are able to gain immediate and substantial savings.

Use our free balance transfer calculator and credit card payoff calculator found on this site to figure out how much money you can save by getting a better interest rate. Then look in this section for the best balance transfer credit cards that offer good deals such as 0% interest for 1 to 2 years, no-fee balance transfers, and lower regular APR rates. You will want to pay special attention to any minimum charges or transfer % that a credit card company might impose on you for transferring a balance – deduct that cost from your overall savings in order to arrive at a real net savings for transferring to a new credit card.

Let’s say that you have a card that you’re currently paying 25% interest on, but you find a card here that will only charge you 3.99% for the first year and 18% thereafter. By moving your balance to the new card you can save more than 20% right away, and 7% over the long term. If your transfer amount is $3,000 that means you save around $500– $600 in interest within the next 12 months.
